By participating in our Flagstone Campaign, you provide tangible support ensuring lasting recognition.
The mission of the Montréal Nature Museums Foundation is to support the educational, conservation and research activities of the Montréal Biodôme, Insectarium, Botanical Garden and Planetarium. To that end, it raises funds allowing the nature museums to carry out their priority development plans. In 2006, on the occasion of its 75th anniversary, the main entrances and areas surrounding the Botanical Garden administration building were spruced up with greenery. A large outdoor square, to the left of the greenhouse entrance, now holds the reception, ticket office, and areas for gathering and relaxation. In this space, near the reception counter, Donors’ Square pays tribute to those who help the Foundation.
Donors’ Square was inaugurated on May 31, 2007, as a result of a fundraising campaign to finance various nature museum activities. Following the public exhibition of this donor recognition, many other people expressed an interest in having their names or those of their family members immortalized on the flagstones. The Flagstone Campaign is now an ongoing event and, on September 3, 2008, the inauguration of the second phase of flagstone construction was held at the Montréal Botanical Garden. For information on acquiring a flagstone, please consult the folder or contact the Foundation directly.
The Foundation calls on your generosity for an amount of $1000. In return, your name, or the names of your children, parents or other family members will be engraved on one of the flagstones at Donors’ Square.
The amount of $1000 is tax deductible, and may be divided into monthly payments made by cheque or credit card. A tax receipt covering the total amount paid over the course of the year will be issued at the beginning of the following year.
The flagstones will remain in place for ten years, after which time donators may preserve their flagstones for life, at a cost of $100 per year. Like the initial amount, this contribution is also 100% tax deductible.
